Why you'll love this wine?

Swinto might be our raison d’être. Completely invisible in the UK until now and one of the most highly rated wines in the world! We sure are glad we’ve shone a light on this one!

Grown on 100 year old vines, this Malbec is an exuberant delight that’s boastful and aromatic. It’s jammy and fruity, full of ripe black fruits and yet mellow and spicy too.

It’s a wine that invokes superlatives and literally blows people’s minds…

“This is the best wine I’ve ever tried. I have enjoyed wonderful wines in France, amazing ones in Italy and remarkable ones in Spain but this one is just one of its own. Try it and you will go, WOW!”

Generous, dense and balanced, Swinto has real elegance and even if not exactly cheap, it’s great value… you won’t be disappointed.

With nearly 4000 reviews on Vivino it’s considered to be one of the top 1% of wines in the whole wide world!

What are wine lovers like you saying...

“Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever tasted a Malbec quite like this! Smooth, rich, and dark dark purple… if I didn’t know I’d say this was a top level Cab Sauv. Belasco de Baquedono winery. Wow! TWS notes: a solid, nearly Bordeaux or Cahors-like experience of Argentine Malbec. In the nose, a ruggedness of freshy-turned black earth demands your attention while a syrupy sense of black raspberries… The palate experience is similarly bipolar with guts and gracefulness coinciding. Yes — and more! Wow!”

“Very dark, massive, austere, dry, dusty,… Gentle giant… Soft fruits and tannins… Monster wine… Lingering finish… Extremely pleasant”

Who made this lovely wine..?

Belasco de Baquedano

The Belasco Family’s dream of expanding its name in the world of wine led them all the way to Mendoza, Argentina, one of the world’s premier locations for quality wine making.

Having acquired magnificent vineyards in 1910, thus assuring a supply of perfect base material, which is the cornerstone of all projects, the next step was the construction of its winery at the foot of the Andes, more precisely at Alto Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo, the Malbec area par excellence.

The Belasco de Baquedano winery is surrounded by 70 hectares of Malbec variety vineyards and equipped with the latest technology. The Belasco de Baquedano project came to fruition in the year 2004, when its first Argentinean wines were presented, which have since gone on to win top international awards as one of the best Malbecs from Argentina.

Grapes for this wine come from their centenary vineyards situated in Alto Agrelo, Luján de Cuyo planted in 1910. The yield is very low approximatley 3000 kg/ha.

After closely following the grapes’ ripeness evolution, very strict selections are made in the vineyard. All of the vineyards are harvested by hand, in small 20kg boxes during the second and third week of April, then hand sorted on arrival at the winery.

The alcoholic fermentation took place in small, temperature controlled stainless steel tanks of 20.000 Kg. capacity. During this proccess, the maximum temperature was 28C and the total maceration time was 28 days. The malolactic fermentation takes place in new french oak barrels.
